Ray Charles Austin November 17, 1954- March 22, 2015 Phenix City, AL- Mr. Ray Charles Austin, 60, of 615 MLK Parkway, Lot 615, Phenix City, AL passed Sunday, March 22, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST, Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL with Rev. Hovet Dixon, officiating. Mr. Austin was born November 17, 1954 in Tuskegee, AL to the late Ida Tate Austin and the late George Austin. He served proudly in the US Army and had been employed as a maintenance worker with Fieldcrest Mills. Survivors include his wife, Teresa Austin of Columbus, GA; three sons, Larry White, Warren Johnson and Dale Austin all of Columbus, GA; one brother, James Arness Jelks of Columbus, GA; three sisters, Lela (Willie) Harvey and Lurean Deloney both of Columbus, GA; Julie Edwards of Phenix City, AL; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Badders, Raymond - Manchester  
Raymond Badders 12/3/1951- 3/21/2015 Manchester, MD- Raymond Walter Badders, age 63, of Manchester, Maryland, died suddenly as a result of an automobile accident on Saturday, March 21, 2015 near Annapolis, Maryland, which also took the life of his youngest daughter, Susannah Marion Badders. Ray was born on December 3, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of the late Walter Coleman and Beatrice B. (Heard) Badders. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Saratoga during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland, with a degree in political science. He worked as an advertising sales representative for Newton Industries. He was a member of the Reisterstown Baptist Church and the Hampstead American Legion. He served on the town council of Riverdale Park, MD, and was a volunteer and ministered to many needy individuals. Most important to Ray was his family and his love of the Lord. Surviving are daughters, Anne-Marie Badders Hamma and husband David of Bowie, Carolyn Owens and husband Tyler of Annapolis, Victoria Virginia Badders of Manchester, and Julianne Elizabeth Badders of Manchester; grandchildren, Luke, Elise, Laila, Alena, Aliyah, and Jake; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia "Ginny" Potter and Billy Potter of Upatoi, Ga.; and former spouse, Katherine (Robinson) Badders of Manchester. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert C. Badders. A Memorial Service to celebrate his and his daughter's life will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Grace Baptist Church, 7210 Racetrack Rd., Bowie, MD., with the Rev. Mark Tanious officiating. Private interment with military honors will be held at Garrison Forest Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, N.C., 28607 www.samaritanspurse.org . Funeral Services will be held 12:00 Noon, Friday, March 27, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Edward Kvietkus, Jr. An interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Bass was born May 29, 1944 in Rogersville, TN, son of the late Robert E. Bass and Barbara L. Williams Bass. He lived in Columbus since 1975 and retired from Civil Service as a Commissary Warehouse Manager and also worked at AAFES. Mr. Bass was a Baptist by faith and later became a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church with his family. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen U. Warnecke Bass, daughter, Kathy Ann Bass, and brother, Robert Lee Bass. Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Bass Giefing of Columbus, GA and Patricia "Patty" Chappel of Columbus, GA; brother, Larry N. Bass (Sandra) of Rogersville, TN; grandsons, John Dale Giefing, Shawn Giefing, Tyler Chappel, Thomas Chappel, and Patrick Chappel. Isaac F. Benton, Jr. December 19, 1933- March 20, 2015 Columbus, GA- Mr. Isaac F. Benton, Jr. of Columbus passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. He was 81 years of age. Born in Phenix City, AL and the son of the late Isaac F. Sr., and Minnie Benton, Mr. Benton was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church. He was retired following 40 years as a machine operator at Sunshine Biscuits. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Benton, and three sisters, Ida Huling, Martha Boddie and Mary Luke. Surviving include: his wife of 51 years, Mrs. Essie Scott Benton; two daughters, Cathy Hardman (Sammy), Janet Dickle; one son, Timothy Benton ; two step children, Beverly Wiggins (James) and Leevane Mitchell (Dorothy);two grandchildren, Trinity and Ronnie; a great grandchild, Devonte; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Milton (Orlando) and Mattie Morton; two nieces, Betty Johnson (Leneon) and Annie Shelton (Leotis); three nephews, Timothy Glenn, Jr., Eddie Glenn and Larry Luke, other relatives and friends. The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Benton will be Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 12 noon at the Progressive Chapel with interment following Evergreen Memorial Park. Pastor Joseph Johnson will officiate.
