Phenix City, Alabama- Edwyna Shupe Boyington, 94, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away
Sunday February 10, 2013. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm (EST) Thursday February 14th in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867, with her son-in-law, the Reverend Donald McCormick and the Reverend Jory Garnto officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Boyington was born January 25, 1919 in Taloga, Oklahoma, daughter of the late William L. Shupe and Lula B. Carter Shupe. Early in life Mrs. Boyington served as a letter analyst and personal correspondence secretary with A.A. Allen's Evangelistic Association. She retired as secretary of the Courts of Praise in Phenix City serving in many capacities. She was the author of the book entitled
"Words of Wisdom" and was a poet and member of the International Society of Poets. She was also a former Russell County foster grandparent. Other than her parents Mrs. Boyington is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bennett Boyington, daughter, Gwen Boyington Falk, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Carol Wilkinson, Gail Smith and husband, Joe, all of Hereford, AZ., Twila McCormick and husband, Donald of Phenix City, grandchildren, Donny McCormick and wife Kim, Jason McCormick, Jonathan
McCormick and wife Haley and Lynda Wilkinson, great grandchildren, Michael Warren, Gabriel, Elijah, Josiah,
Joshua,Rachel, Jada, Katelyn and Ian McCormick, Alysia and Aleyda Avechouco, Amayia Wilkinson and Elisha Cole, numerous other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Rd., Columbus, GA. 31909. To offer condolences please visit www.shphenixcity.com.

Aunt Twila I am praying for you and the family. Your mom was such an admirable woman. I am thankful my life was touched by such a sweet angel on earth. I know one day we will all rejoice together in Heaven together. She will always be remembered.
