Phenix City, AL- Mr. James Chambers, affectionately known as "Sleepy", 75, of 1701 37th Street, Apt. 3001, Phenix City, AL passed Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Magnolia Manor, Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenyatta Jones, eulogist. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation is today from 1 - 8 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mr. Chambers was born September 15, 1938 in Phenix City, AL to the late Aaron Mitchell and the late Mamie Chambers. He retired from Covan Moving & Storage and had been employed with Russell County Sheriff Dept.
Survivors include two daughters, Kurtrina Smarts of Chesapeake, VA and Subrina Williams of Phenix City, AL; one brother, Tommy (Cheryl) Chambers of Grand Rapids, MI; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
