MSgt Joshua Mark Gavulic was the type of man that made you feel like something immeasurably invaluable had been gained just by having the privilege of knowing him during his time here with us. He was a leader who considered everyone's best interest before asking you to follow and a visionary who was capable of expanding your perspective if you earnestly listened. He loved the Lord and held true to his values with a steadfast certainty that caused others to reaffirm their faith when it wavered or needed adjustment. His commitment to God was most notably demonstrated through his profound and unwavering love for his wife and undoubtedly his soul mate, Alyssa, and his devotion to his six beautiful children. Yet, his legacy was even further perpetuated by the remarkable achievements he made during his military career as part of an elite group of men in the 17th Special Tactics Squadron as a Special Operations Joint Terminal Attack Controller in an effort to be a man that his sons could emulate and of which his daughters would be proud. He had completed 10 deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan and had received over 26 medals including 3 Bronze Star Medals, two Air Force Commendation Medals, two Joint Service Commendation Medals, and an Army Commendation Medal during his 16 year enlistment. His personal passions included being outdoors, playing guitar and drums, appreciating tattoo artwork, marksmanship, renovating homes, riding motorcycles, and restoring classic vehicles. Yet, these things always came second to rolling around on the floor wrestling with his sons, twirling his little girls around in a quick dance, or making his wife feel like she was the most amazing woman he had ever laid eyes on. Their marriage was truly one that people write love stories about. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he will never ever be forgotten.
Joshua Gavulic is survived by his wife Alyssa, and their six children Rylie 15, Tristyn 12, Austyn 7, Suttyn 6, Evylie 3, and Lylah 15 months; his parents Robert and Sherri Gavulic, his brother Jacob Gavulic; and his sister, Jewel Gavulic.
