John Vincent Dacey III October 26, 1939 - September 13, 2009 PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL— John Vincent Dacey III, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away September 13, 2009 in his Florida home surrounded by his wife and sons. He is formerly of Columbus, GA. John, Jack to his friends and family, was born in Gary, Indiana on October 26th 1939 to John Vincent Dacey II and Elsie Fifield Dacey. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Faye (Martin) Dacey of Panama City Beach, FL; three sons Michael (Michelle) Dacey of Woodlands, TX, Sean (Cheryl) Dacey of Atlanta, GA, Bruce Ellerbee of Columbus, GA; sister Eva Hood of Lake Placid, FL; five grandchildren Cameron, Christian and Cali Dacey of Woodlands, TX and Jillian and Jansen Dacey of Atlanta, GA; three nieces Shere Butterfield, Christine (Ed) Hines, and Katherine (Mark) Fischer and many more dear friends and relatives. He's preceded in death by his father John Vincent Dacey II, stepfather William Rubach, and mother Elsie Dacey Rubach. Jack served in the Army Medical Service Corp. and afterwards worked for Wyeth-Ayherst Laboratories until he retired in March of 2000. Jack spent his retirement with wife Faye in the Florida panhandle where he enjoyed the beach, the weather but most of all entertaining friends and family. Jack was well known for his quick wit, sense of humor and his ability to make everyone feel like a close friend. He was a truly dedicated father, grandfather, loving husband and friend. The celebration of the life of Jack Dacey will be held September 21st, 2009; 4:00 p.m. at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus, GA 31907, Minister Alan Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the start of service at the funeral home. Those desiring to make donations in memory of Jack Dacey may do so to the American Hospice Foundation; www.americanhospice.org Jack, you will truly be missed and will eternally live on in our hearts.
