Columbus, GA- Ms. Glenda "Poochie" Branford Hardnett, 63, of Columbus, Georgia entered into eternal rest Friday June 7, 2013 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Friday, June 14, 2013 at New Destiny Church International, with the Rev. Rudolph C. Allen, Sr. officiating and Pastor DeQuindrae Hardnett, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery according to Progressive Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday June 13, 2013 from 1:00 PM-6:00 PM at Progressive Funeral Home.
Ms. Glenda Branford Hardnett, affectionately known as "Poochie", was born August 23, 1949, the second eldest daughter of Jasper Branford and the late Alfonza Williams Branford in Columbus, Georgia. She was a 1967 honor graduate of Carver High School and successfully completed a Certified Nursing Assistant program. She was a long time employee of Dolly Madison and Charbroil. She was a loyal and faithful member of New Destiny Church International. Glenda was also a very gifted writer. She loved spending time creatively writing inspirational sonnets and other works. Mrs. Glenda Branford Hardnett leaves to cherish her memory a loving son, Pastor Dequindrae Hardnett (Denitra) of Columbus, GA; a loving and nurturing father, Jasper Branford of Columbus, GA; a granddaughter, Charity Hardnett; three sisters, Brenda Chambers (Tommie) of Columbus, GA; Ozelle Branford Moore of Columbus, GA; and Gloria Strode (Tollie II) of Columbus, GA; two nephews, Travis Chambers (Kia) and Tollie Strode III both of Columbus, GA of Columbus, GA; one niece, Joy Burkes (Jerald) of Atlanta ,GA; two aunts, Evelyn Brown of Columbus, GA; and Sarah Williams of Macon, GA; one uncle, Albert Scott of Columbus, GA; four great aunts; great nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends.
