Columbus , Ga- Glenn Scott Nunley, known as "Rocco" to close friends, left us to join Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant in our heavenly Father's coliseum on August 10th, 2013.
Funeral arrangements start with a celebration of his life at Midway United Methodist Church, 4442 Buena Vista Road, Columbus Georgia for family and close friends at 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm Friday, August 16th, 2013, followed by a dinner in his honor at the same location, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Glenn was born on July 8th, 1962 of Italian and German descent, and naturalized in the United States shortly there after. Glenn attended local Columbus schools and graduated from Kendrick High School, Columbus Georgia, in 1980.
Glenn also graduated from Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City Alabama, with an Associates Degree. His awards included graduating on the Deans List, being honored as the Magna Cum Laude of his class, and being listed in the "Who's Who" publication of college graduates of 2007. Glenn was also an Eagle Scout, and still active in the Boy Scouts of America until his death.
His devotion to the University of Alabama's Football team and the Green Bay Packers is still legendary to those who knew him. Glenn enjoyed camping and entertaining children, and he had a genuine love for animals. He was self-employed in landscaping, and a caretaker for his parents.
Glenn is survived his parents, Thomas and Inge Nunley, his brother and sister Carl and Veronika Nunley, his niece and nephews Deanna, Brandon and Kyle Nunley. He will be greatly missed by dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins, and hundreds of extended family and friends.
Donations are appreciated in lieu of flowers, at any Columbus Bank and Trust Company branch; please address them to the "Glenn Scott Nunley Special Account".
Quoting Bear Bryant "If you want to walk the Heavenly streets of gold, you gotta know the password…"ROLL TIDE ROLL!" (and Rocco always knew the password!).

Glenn never said no when someone needed help. He has helped me numerous times with things I could not do myself. All I had to do was call him. He has helped people move, cut grass, or do whatever he could to help his fellow man. He spent his last day on this earth helping his church. He also was a loyal Alabama football fan. I would venture to say that he may well have been the biggest, passionate Bama fan ever. If he could make it to the game he was there. Even if he didn't have tickets he went and sat in a local eatery and watched the game with other fans. There were numerous times he helped people he did not even know. Most of us would keep going if we saw someone stranded or broke down on the road. Not Glenn. He would always stop and offer any assistance that he could. He would literally give you the shirt off his back or whatever he could to help. He was a friend to many. You will be missed, Mr. Glenn. You will be missed.

To the Nunley family. I am so sorry to hear of Glenn's passing. I just ran into Glenn and his mother a couple of weeks ago at Walmart. Known you all for over 40 years. It was nice seeing you both. Who knew it would be the last time. May God bless you all.

Stallion, three months ago I asked you to mentor my daughter as you knew so much about her dad. Thank you for taking her to the Olive Garden & always being there when she needed a ride or a funny voice mail or quote to cheer her up. You have always been an important part of our lives & I will always love you for all the love you showed her. Roll Tide Stallion & you almost made it to the 15th anniversary. As a friend of Glenn's Sister Veronika, I had the honor of meeting Glenn, and realizing that he was indeed an individual with a kind heart. His conversation was always pleasant; never an unkind word. Glenn will definitely be missed; however, his kind spirit will always remain in our hearts. His family has my deepest condolences.

Glenn will be greatly missed. He was always such a giving person never asking for anything in return. Our camping trips will never be the same. He always made them so interesting. May God comfort all of Glenn's family and friends during this time of sorrow.

I first met Glenn many years ago at the Midway United Methodist Church youth group. I remember what a helpful nature he had and how he made our group laugh all the time.
