Phenix City, AL- Mr. Jerry R. Adams, born September 28, 1941 in Coffee County, Alabama, Died July 24, 2013 at Gentiva Hospice of Columbus, GA.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM EST, Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Vance Memorial Chapel with Pastor Thomas Pope officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM on Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Adams was the son of the late JC Adams and Ollie B. Adams. In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams was preceded in death by sisters Mary Mann and Eunice Howard and one granddaughter Jennifer House.
Mr. Adams was a member of the Central High School graduating class of 1960 and after graduation he enlisted in the National Guard. Later he attended Columbus Technical College in Columbus, GA where he studied Electrical Engineering. Mr. Adams was employed as the Head Electrical Engineer at St. Francis Hospital, a job which he dearly loved and later retired from after 33 years of service. Mr. Adams was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Mr. Adams is survived by his loving bride of 51 years Patricia Ann Adams of Phenix City, AL; two daughters Donna Adams House and Husband Morris and Dianne Adams Hiers; one son David Lee Adams and his wife Leigh Adams; three sisters Margaret Johns, Janice Spears and Shirley Jenkins; two brothers RC Adams and Billie Adams; seven grandchildren Mitch and Matt House, Adam and Mike Heirs, April Johnson, Ryan Adams and Emilie Adams; ten great-grandchildren Brett and Kiersten House, DJ and Celess Hawkins, Bayleigh Hiers, Camryn Hiers, Canaan Durham, Treystan Crosby, Tatum Vassell and Jadyn Johnson and many additional relatives and friends.
Flowers welcomed, or contributions may be made in his honor to the Georgia Chapter , 5900 River Road Suite 301 Columbus, GA 31904.
