Columbus, Georgia- Phyllis Marie Williams, 50, Columbus, GA died Friday, February 1, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church 1022 Adair Avenue, Columbus, GA 31906, Rev. Benjamin F. McGruder, pastor will be officiating. Interment will be held in Green Acres Cemetery according to the Charles E. Huff's International Funeral Home. Viewing will be today from 1PM - 7PM at the funeral home located at 927 - 5th Avenue, Columbus.
Phyllis Marie Williams was born November 20, 1962 to Robert Lee Williams, Sr. and the late Matilda Brooks Williams in Columbus, Georgia. She was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Senior Choir, the Praise Team and the Henry Crimes Choir. She was a proud 1980 graduate of William H. Spencer High School and furthered her studies at Morris Brown College. Phyllis was a dedicated staff member of the Muscogee County School System for five years. Until retirement, Phyllis worked hard to inspire young girls at the Ann Elizabeth Shepherd Home.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her father, Robert Lee Williams, Sr. of Columbus; three brothers, Robert Lee Williams, Jr. (Shara), Bruce Williams and Dennis Williams all of Columbus; two sisters, Eloise Williams and Alfleta Christopher (Alfred) both of Columbus; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and other loving relatives and caring friends.
