Columbus, GA- Mrs. Ruby Marion Passmore of Columbus passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. She was 65 years of age and resided at 1216 Briarwood Avenue.
The daughter of the late Lucius and Odell Humphrey Marion, Mrs. Passmore was a Columbus native, born on April 17, 1948. She was a 1967 graduate of the George Washington Carver High School, and was a member of the Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church. She served as Acting Director of New Horizons (State of Georgia) retiring after 33 years of dedicated service. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Frank Perry, Jr., and two siblings, Annie Will Marion and Lucius Marion, Jr.
Surviving her departure with cherished memories, include: her husband, James Passmore; a daughter, Fonda A. Perry; one son, Travis M. Perry; four grandchildren, Marquis, Kaila, Dae and Catherine; a step daughter, Malikah Passmore; two step grandchildren, Kalysa and Jarrod; two sisters, Cynthia Marion Matthews and Diane Marion Smith (Marcus); an aunt and uncle, Mrs. Bessie Matthews and Mr. Robert Samuel Marion; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Passmore will be Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 pm, Graveside at Evergreen Memorial Park. Reverend Larry Stephens will officiate. The visitation is Friday, 2 until 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Family members and friends are asked to assemble at the gravesite at 1:45 the day of the service.
