Phenix City, AL- Martha Ruth Yancey Johnston, 83 of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Dr. David Howle officiating., according to Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mrs. Johnston was born April 3, 1930 in Huntsville, Alabama ; daughter of the late Clifford L. and Martha Mason Yancey. She was a member of Ladonia Baptist Church and formerly employed with Maxwell Brothers Furniture, The Holiday House and Alabama Wholesale. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Johnston.
Survivors include her daughters, Pam Quillian of Ponce Inlet, FL, Jayne Patrick and husband Mike of Columbus, GA, son, Rusty Johnston and wife Vicki of Phenix City, AL, grandchildren, Phillip Lawler and wife Loni of Mira Loma, CA, Wynn Patrick of Columbus, GA, Leslie Lupton and husband Matt of Payton, CO, Chaz Johnston of Phenix City, AL, great grandchildren, Jack Lupton, Luke Lupton, Kylie Lupton, Lexi Lawler and Hunter Lawler.
