Columbus, GA- Ms. Arleen Lenell Sims-Salmon, affectionately known as "Cookie", 41, passed Sunday, April 6, 2014 at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST, Monday, April 14, 2014 at Words of Wisdom Christian Center, Columbus, GA with Bishop Barbara Shephard, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation is today from 1 - 8 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Ms. Salmon was born May 16, 1972 in East St. Louis, IL to Ruthie (Leroy) Forte of Columbus, GA and the late Edward VanRoyal Sims. She was a member of Forrest Park Baptist Church, a graduate of Kendrick High School class of 1990 and had served in the US Army.
Survivors other than her mother include one daughter, Oriana Ahsan Brown of Columbus, GA; three brothers, Le'Roy (Keandra) Forte, Darrin (Tasha) Scott and Kelvin Scott all of Columbus, GA; one sister, Sharon (Gregory) Jones of Columbus, GA and a host of other relatives and friends.
