Phenix City, AL- James Earl Farmer, 90 of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Canterbury Heath Care in Phenix City.
Mr. Farmer was born August 12, 1923 in Slocomb, AL to the late Arlie Edmond Farmer and Viola Kimbro Farmer. He was retired from Swift Spinning Mills with 30 years of service. He was a United States Army Veteran and a Baptist by faith. He enjoyed outdoor activities and doing yard choirs and he was also a member of the American Legion. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Etta Story Farmer, son, Edwin Farmer, grandson, Keith Farmer, two brothers and several sisters.
He is survived by a daughter, Annette Tutor and husband Thomas of Phenix City, one son, Ronald Farmer and wife Eslon of Phenix City, AL; one sister, Mae Blount of Panama City, FL.
Grandchildren, Brian Farmer (Tina), Steve Farmer (Amee) and Eric Garner (Cynthia), great grandchildren, Keira, Kylee, Kacey, Zachary, Cody and Tyler, numerous other loving family members and many friends.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 1:00 pm EDT Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm EDT at the funeral home. The family would like to invite everyone to meet at Vance Memorial Chapel by 12:15 pm EDT on Wednesday to leave in procession by 12:30 pm EDT to Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.
