Phenix City, AL - Winston Marvin McKinney, 67 of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday at St. Francis Hospital.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Summerville United Methodist Church, at 10:00am EDT, with Rev. Brady Baird and Rev. Judd Stinson officiating. Family will greet friends before the service. Interment will be held at Floyd Memory Gardens, in Rome, GA, Saturday at 3:00 pm EDT, with Rev. Fred Wilks officiating.
Mr. McKinney was born on February 2, 1947, in Dalton, GA, to the late Joseph and Dorothy Mize. He was a member of Summerville United Methodist Church, the Phenix City Civitan, an honorary member of the Red Hat Society and an honorary Zumba dancer.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Amos and Dimple Hewitt and Martha Booker.
He is survived by his sister, Dimple Davis, husband Norman of Phenix City, AL; nephews, Michael Terrell, wife Della and Joseph Terrell; great nieces, Jessica Terrell, Ashleigh Terrell and Hayden Terrell; grandmother, Mary Evelyn Davis; special friends, Carol Strickland, Ruby Golden, and Debbie Coulter; other family members and caring friends.
Special thanks to the doctor's and staff at St. Francis for the care extended to him during his time there.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Russell County Relay for Life.
