Columbus, GA- Sis. Willie Jane Porch, 86, of 2226 Bell Street, Columbus, GA passed Thursday, June 5, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST, Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Greater Bethelpore Misssionary Baptist Church, Salem, AL with Rev. Isaiah Sumbry, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation is today from 1 - 8 p.m. EST with a family hour from 6 - 7 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Sis. Porch was born March 11, 1928 in Salem, AL to the late Frank Flakes and the late Mary Bayton Flakes. She was a member of Greater Bethelpore Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Swift Textile Mill.
Survivors include one son, Allen (Brenda) Porch, Jr. of Columbus, GA; three daughters, Maudia Mills, Mary Porch and Geraldine (Rev. Albert) Sanders all of Columbus, GA; one brother, Leroy (Dollie) Flakes of Boston, MA; two sisters, Buelah Heard of Smiths Station, AL and Mary Brooks of Phenix City, AL; 20 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
