Midland, GA- MSG (Ret.) Charles Marion Washington, 67, of Midland, GA, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 28, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
MSG (Ret.) Washington was born July 7, 1946 in Mt. Pleasant, SC, son of the late Henry Stewart Washington and Rosalee Robinson Washington. He was a Maintenance Instructor for the United States Army for 26 years. After retiring from the military, MSG (Ret.) Washington worked for the Civil Service GSA as an Equipment Specialist.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward L. Washington.
Survivors include his wife, Monika M. Washington of Midland, GA; son, Robert Washington of Midland, GA; grandson, Andrew D. Washington of Cataula, GA; granddaughters, Kayonna and Kylee Carter of Opelika, AL; brothers, Henry Washington, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Julius Washington (Stein) of DeSoto, TX, Melvin Washington (Linda) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Truman Washington (Ester) of Dallas, TX, Anthony Washington of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Carl Washington (Leona) of N. Charleston, SC, Jerome Washington of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Nathaniel Washington (Charlisaer) of Goose Creek, SC; sisters, Ethel Mae Miles of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Catherline Williamson (Christopher) of Goose Creek, SC, Margaret Taylor (Curtis) of Stockbridge, GA, and Princetta Wright (Samuel) of Ft. Mitchell, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and loving friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ft. Benning Wounded Warrior Project, or Muscogee County Autism Awareness, P.O. Box 6028 Columbus, GA 31917.
