Columbus, GA- Ismael DelValle, Jr., 60, Columbus, GA., died June 26, 2014 in Cordele, GA.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Edgewood Assembly of God with Rev. Charles Hayes and Pastor Willie Sutton officiating. Interment will follow services at Ft Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA. 31907.
Mr. DelValle was born on September 5, 1953 in New York City, NY son of the late Ismael DelValle and Virginia Perez DelValle. He retired from the Army and served in the National Guard for a total of 28 years and he worked for Exide for over 30 years. Mr. DelValle was an Evangelist Street Minister with a motto of "Save a lost at any cost." He was a fluent Spanish interpreter.
Mr. Delvalle was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved his country.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Marie Tolbert DelValle; mother, Virginia Perez DelValle of New York, NY; daughter, Diedra DelValle Jones (Roderick) of Cordele, GA; sister Ada Delvalle of New York, NY; aunt, Ana Marcellio of New York, NY; cousins, Carmello "Barney" Marellio and Margie Marellio of New York, NY; three grandchildren Isaiah, Nevaeh and Jayden of Cordele, GA; mother-in-law, Mary Louise Tolbert of Leavenworth, KS; many nieces, nephews and cousins; brother-in-laws, Mark Tolbert, Jr., Charles Martin Tolbert (Eleanor), Harry Alfred Tolbert, Phillip Tolbert (Michelle); sister-in-laws, Marilynne Martin, Pattie Jayne Webb (Ronnie) and Marthat Joe Wilis (Greg).
