Phenix City, AL- Richard M. Brannon, Sr., 67 of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital in Phenix City.
Memorial services with Military Honors will be held at 4:00 pm EDT, on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
Mr. Brannon was born March 16, 1947, in Columbus, GA, and was the son of the late Oscar Melvin Brannon and Edna Earl Kirkland Brannon. He was retired as a Master Barber with Ranger Joes Barber Shop and a Baptist by faith. He served our country and was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, boating, visiting the beach, and hunting. Mr. Brannon loved fellowship, singing, and playing his guitar and being around people. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, one brother and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Nan Dykes Brannon, his children, Richard Brannon, Jr., Christopher Brannon, wife Amber, Lisa Brannon, Stephen Brannon and Roy Spurlin, Jr. and Shannon.
Grandchildren, Christopher Brannon, Shane Eichner, Jessica Brannon, Gabrielle Brannon, Josh Spurlin, Justin Long, and Jeremy Spurlin, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many caring friends.
