Columbus, Georgia- Mrs. Beverly Ann Scott Payne, 65, of 2463 Mesa St., Columbus, Georgia died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1PM Saturday, July 19, 2014 at New Bethel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Richard Yancey pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery, according to Sconiers Funeral Home, 836 5th Ave., Columbus, GA. Mrs. Payne was born October 20, 1948 in Columbus, GA; the daughter of Fletcher Davis and Mary Hardaway Goodwin. She was currently employed with L & S Food Service, as a supervisor for 39 years. She was a member of New Bethel AME Church, where served on the Senior Usher Board, and Missionary and was President of the Steward and Pastor's Aid Board.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Netra Griffin. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Calvin Payne Sr. of Columbus, GA; two sons Jason Sanders of Rochester, NY and Demetrius Hardaway of Columbus, GA; two daughters, Angela Davis (James) Dillon of Roanoke, VA and Tracey (Larry) Travers of Sylacauga AL; two step-daughters, Antell and Ashley Payne of Columbus, GA; one step-son, Calvin Payne Jr. of Lima, Ohio; three sisters, Cynthia (Edward) Dubose, Alveta Fitzpatrick and Audrey (Frank) Watkins all of Columbus, GA and one brother, Jeffery Hardaway of Atlanta, GA; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, others relatives and friends.
