Phenix City, AL- Sara Louise Rodgers Chapman, 86 of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in the comfort of her daughter's home in Phenix City.
Mrs. Chapman was born October 31, 1927 in Pike County, AL to the late Gordon Rodgers and Eula Pearl Green Rodgers. She was retired from Fieldcrest Textiles and was a member of Faith Temple Assembly of God. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and spending time with family and her church family. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse M. Chapman, son, James Roy Chapman, sister, Mary McLendon and a brother, Bill Rodgers.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Page and husband Terrell Beasley of Phenix City, AL and Jeanette Chin of Fort Mitchell, AL, one son, Jerry Chapman and wife Pat of Phenix City, AL; one brother, Johnny Rodgers and wife Joan of Smiths Station, AL.
(6) Grandchildren, Buffy Ann Cunningham (Josh), Bobby Wayne Chapman (Cindy), Penny Holland (Mark), Steve Page (Anissa), Clifford Elliott and Luis Chin; (9) great grandchildren, Lyric Cunningham, Abigail Marie Chapman, Brianna Batchelor, Mindy Turnbull (Jamie), Todd Beauchamp (Casondra) , Corey Page, Megan Chin, Branden Chin and Michael Chin, (2) great great grandchildren, Mona Beauchamp and Colton Turnbull, numerous other family members, church family and many caring friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EDT Monday, August 11, 2014 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Emory Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside United Methodist Church Cemetery and the family will received friends Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 pm EDT at the funeral home.
