Seale, AL- Mrs. Hazel Lewis, 59, of 134 Blackbottom Road, Seale, AL passed Monday, January 28, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital, Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Dr. Patrick T. Brown, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is today from 1 - 8 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mrs. Lewis was born May 18, 1953 in Russell County, AL to the late Sarah Hoskin and the late Arthur Hoskin, Sr. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she served in the choir, as a matron and on the kitchen committee. She was a 1971 graduate of Mt. Olive High School and retired from the Russell County Board of Education after 25 years of service.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Lewis; three grandchildren, Jyniya Goode, Jynez Allen and Jay'von Allen; four sisters, Alma Phillips, Ethel Smith, Mary (Eddie) Scott and Eunice Dunkley; a host of other relatives and friends.
