Phenix City, AL- John Samuel "Sam" Belflowers, 64 of Phenix City, AL. died Monday, March 25, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Ga. 31907 with Reverend Dean Knipe and Reverend Bill Van Dyke officiating. Active Pallbearers will be, John Belflowers, Jr., Leon Belflowers, Curtis Carswell, Robert Belflowers, Jeffrey Stevenson and Josh McGee. Interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Sam was born in Clio, AL, on August 27, 1948 to the late Marion Joseph Belflowers, Sr. and Tiney Rackley Belflowers. He was a long time area resident and was retired from Goody Products where he worked as a Traffic Superintendent. Sam was Protestant by faith and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sara N. Belflowers of Phenix City, AL. his two children, John Belflowers and wife Carrie of Phenix City, AL. and Tammy Renee Williams and husband Billy of Columbus, Ga. six sisters, Cloradene Reynolds, Betty Peterson, Thelma Fowler, Shirley Hendrix, Elizabeth Carswell and Marie Stephens, two brothers, Elbert Leon Belflowers and Robert Earl Belflowers, and four grandchildren, Joshua McGee, Brad Aaron Belflowers, Jiovanni Guerra and Alex Flarity.
