Box Springs, GA- Mr. Pedro Biggs 97, of 1534 Columbus Hwy, Box Springs, Georgia passed Monday February 3, 2014 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Cox Cemetery, Box Springs, Georgia with Pastor G F Brisco officiating according to Hill-Watson-People's Funeral Service LLC, 2919 Hamilton Road, Columbus, GA. Visitation will be today, Friday , February 7, 2014 from 4:00PM-7:00PM with the family receiving friends from 4:00PM-6:00PM at the funeral home. Mr. Biggs was born June 15, 1916 in Talbot, County, GA son of the late Otha and Ella Biggs. Pedro found God at an early age and continued to believe in Christian principles until his death. He served his country in the United States Navy, serving in World War II and was a part of the Pacific Fleet. Pedro was married to his beloved wife Pearl for 76 years. Upon returning to Box Springs, GA, he started several businesses to include a sandwich shop, movie theater, pulp wood and firewood company, moving man and cattle farmer. He ran his farm raising cattle until he was ninety years old, after which he turned it over to his two sons. Pedro leaves to cherish his many loving memories his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Pearl Biggs; two sons, Monroe(Cynthia)Biggs and Wayne(Mildred)Biggs, Box Springs, GA; a sister, Rilla Williamson, Box Springs, GA; a daughter in law, Janet Bernard, San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Timothy(Amelia)Biggs, Columbus, GA, Walter Bernard, Jr,. Philadelphia, PA, Wayne Bernard and Wynton Bernard, San Diego, CA, Kelton Mathis, Box Springs, GA and Jerome(Dawana)Walton, Indianapolis, IN; two great grandchildren, Jackson and Christopher Biggs; four sisters in law, Stella Biggs, Adriene Whillsey, Lotta Walton, Columbus, GA and Willie Woody, Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
