Columbus, GA- Richard Arthur Marchetti, 75, of Columbus, GA died Monday, March 27, 2017 at his home.
A private graveside service will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
Mr. Marchetti was born January 30, 1942, in Chicago, IL, son of the late Donald E. and Lea Marchetti Clarkson. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and practiced law in Columbus for 43 years. Mr. Marchetti was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, and was a member of the State Bar of GA for 51 years.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Paula Nixon Marchetti of Columbus, GA, sons, Michael Marchetti (Cammy) of Columbus, GA, Matthew Marchetti of Columbus, GA, Martin Marchetti (Kathy) of Atlanta, GA, and John Andrew Marchetti of Columbus, GA, and 4 grandsons, Will, Carson, Max and Mayes.
Special thanks to the entire staff at Gentiva Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, those so desiring may make memorial contributions to NORD- National Organization for Rare Disorders, for research dedicated to the cause of and treatment for Olivopontocerebellar Atrophy (OPCA).

My condolences to Paula and the children. I have fond memories of Rick. While sometimes difficult to work for, he was a great mentor / teacher at the same time. It was an honor to work for Rick and to learn so much from him.
