JAFFREY - Margaret 'Peggy' Sherman, 93, of Jaffrey died peacefully at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center after a period of failing health. Peggy was born on Sep. 24, 1920 in Jaffrey, daughter of the late George and Rosa (Gobiel) Blair. She was proud to have been born on School Street and to have attended schools in Jaffrey. Peggy had worked at W.W. Cross and D.D. Bean & Sons in Jaffrey for many years. She had been a long time resident of Jaffrey and in Peterborough, and had also lived in Zephyr Hills, Fla. and in Lansing, Mich. before returning to Jaffrey. Peggy enjoyed life and loved crocheting simple gifts for family and friends. She had been a member and past president of the Jaffrey VFW Memorial Post #5613 Auxiliary Unit and a parishioner of Saint Patrick Parish. In addition to her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her siblings; Arthur G. Blair, Robert J. Blair, Henry J. Blair, Alice Gallup, Eva Hadley and Beatrice Byam, and by her husbands, Donald Arnold, Alfred Jarvis and Donald Sherman. Peggy did not have children of her own. She is survived by her beloved Nieces and Nephews and their families with whom she would travel with and loved to orchestrate all kinds of family activities with. They were her family and her true joys in life. At Peggy's request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Sep. 26, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Saint Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey, N.H. 03452. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Saint Patrick Cemetery in Jaffrey. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Peggy's memory to Hospice at HCS, P.O. JAFFREY - Bernard J. Santoro, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Jaffrey on Sep. 10, 2014 with his family by his side. 'Bernie' was born in Worcester, Mass. on Jan. 31, 1932, son of the late Bernardo and Mary (Biceglia) Santoro. He was raised and received his education in Worcester and later served his country honorably with the U.S. Army in Korea and Okinawa. Bernie had worked as a calibration technician at Data General/EMC2 in Southborough, Mass. until retiring in 1987. He enjoyed ocean kayaking, biking and working in his yard and tractor. Bernie had married Shirley (Carlson) in 1958 and they had lived in Holden, Mass. before moving to Jaffrey. Bernie and Shirley also enjoyed spending time at their home in Spruce Head, Maine. Bernie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Santoro of Jaffrey; his two daughters, Linda Santoro of Rindge, and Joann Bartlett and her husband, James of Rutland, Mass.; his son, David and his wife, Margo Santoro of Stoddard; his granddaughter, Reagan and grandson, Brian, both of Rutland, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Graveside Service will be conducted on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the family lot in Cutter Cemetery Extension on Harkness Road in Jaffrey. Rev Wilfred H. Deschamps, Pastor of Saint Patrick Parish in Jaffrey will officiate. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, Sep. 13, 2014 at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Rte. 202) Jaffrey from 11 a.m. until the time of the Graveside Service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that Memorial Contributions be made in Bernie's name to the Monadnock Kitty Rescue & Adoption, P.O.
