Beaux Kisielewski, Jr., 49, of San Francisco, California, son of Sheila Bay-Harvey of Temple, NH and Benjamin Kisielewski of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully at San Francisco General Hospital on May 16, 2013, surrounded by family and long-time friends, after a short battle with cancer.
Beaux was born in Wilmington, Delaware on August 29, 1963. As a child, Beaux spent glorious summers with the Kisielewski family in Wildwood, NJ. He moved in 1970 to Spain where he attended the International School on Ibiza Island. Later, after moving to Holland, he attended the Waldorf School in Zeist, Holland. He lived at Camphill Christophorus in Bos en Duin, Holland. He volunteered at Camphill Maartens House on the Island of Texel, Holland and after returning to the U.S.in 1980 lived in Wilmington , Delaware and at Camphill Triform in Livingston, New York.
Beaux married Darlene Wistrand in 1988 and graduated from the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park, New York. They moved to California where they had their daughter, Celina. There Beaux studied and worked at Domaine Chandon in Napa.
Beaux worked for many years in the culinary field, at Teatro ZinZanni and elsewhere in his beloved San Francisco. In 2000, he returned for four years to New Hampshire where he worked at Plowshare Farm Life-Sharing in Greenfield, helping renovate a building for a new life-sharing initiative, Novalia Inc. When Novalia moved to Temple he worked tirelessly renovating that house as well. He loved being with people with special needs and helped them all his life. He also worked at La Bonne Table Catering and the Café at
Noone Falls in Peterborough, NH doing catering and baking.
Beaux spent his whole life creating, cooking, baking wedding cakes, drawing, helping those less able than himself, telling stories of his travels and making whimsical lost art from the recycling center. We tried not to send him to recycle with the truck too often because he inevitably came back with another truckload of 'lost' art treasures!
Beaux is survived by: three children, PSSN Celina Kisielewski, US Navy, Okinara, Japan: Denise of Texel, Holland, and Justin of San Francisco; his mother, Sheila Bay-Harvey of Temple, New Hampshire; his father, Benjamin (Bo) Kisielewski, Sr. of Wilmington, Delaware; and four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Lucia Bay and William Schmenner of Philadelphia, Sarah Bay and Sam Blair of Peterborough, New Hampshire, Kristin Bay of Peterborough, New Hampshire, and Galina Bay Schwab and David Schwab of Greenfield, New Hampshire.
Beaux is remembered by many close and loving aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in the U.S. and abroad. Ms. Michelle Beliso was his longtime companion.
He was faithfully cared for in the last months of his life by our old friend Larry Abel of Oakland, California, for whose care and dedication the family is especially grateful.
