Constance A. Blanchette, 84, of Greenville, NH died peacefully on July 8, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Jaffrey, NH surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 28, 1929 in Fitchburg, MA to the late Telesphore and Marie (Leclerc) Lizotte. She was a lifelong resident of Greenville, graduating from Sacred Heart School in 1943 and Appleton Academy in New Ipswich class of 1947.
In her younger years she worked in her fathers store, Lizottes Market in Greenville. She later worked as a Records Clerk at Mascenic High School in New Ipswich for 5 years, and as a part time Merchandiser for Hallmark Cards, servicing the A&P and Ames stores in Peterborough for 6 years. She also worked on election days in Greenville as a Ballot Clerk and served for 15 years as Supervisor of the Checklist.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Greenville Womans Club, Associate member of the State Employees Association, New Hampshire Candlepin Bowling Association, and a lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Greenville.
Connie enjoyed bowling, cribbage, the Red Sox, and cooking for her family. She was on bowling leagues for 30 years, and bowled in many state tournaments. She also enjoyed summers at their camp at Pratt Pond in New Ipswich with her family and spending time with her many friends. She was dearly loved by her family, and spending time with her family was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Edward J. Blanchette of Greenville; three sons, Richard Blanchette and his wife Renee of New Ipswich, Michael Blanchette and his wife Cheryl of Dunkirk, MD, and Daniel Blanchette of New Ipswich; five grandchildren, Heather Blanchette of Miami, FL, Chelsea Blanchette of Hancock, NH, Amy Blanchette and Brian Alexander of Lebanon, NH, Sarah Haynes of Charlottesville, Virginia and Chad Blanchette and his wife Caitlin of Peterborough; two great grandchildren, Tristan Haynes of Charlottesville, Virginia and Ava Alexander of Lebanon; her sisters-in-law, Alice Lizotte, Ann Lizotte, and Theresa Photos; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. She is predeceased by her two brothers Rudolph Lizotte and Bernard Lizotte.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Sacred Heart Church, 15 High Street, Greenville, NH 03048.
Calling hours will be July 11, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Michaud Funeral Home Chapel, 32 Maple Street, Wilton, NH. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father William Deschamps on Friday July 12, 2013 at 4:00PM at Sacred Heart Church, 15 High Street, Greenville, NH. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Ipswich, NH.
