PEPPERELL, MASS. - Joan M. (Sullivan) Floyd, 59, of Victor, N.Y. formerly of High Street, Pepperell, died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at the Thompson Hospital, Canandaigua, N.Y. Joan was born in Nashua, July 13, 1954, a daughter of W. Francis and Ann (Wheeler) Sullivan and grew up in Pepperell. She was a 1972 graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend,Mass. She resided in New York for 25 years.
Besides her parents of Jaffrey, she leaves her husband, Kenneth F. Floyd; two sons, Benjamin D. Floyd, stationed with the US Navy in the Philippines, Tyler W. Floyd, stationed with the US Marine Corps at Camp Jejune N.C.; three brothers, David Sullivan and his wife, Laureen, Daniel Sullivan and fiancé, Jennifer Sommers, all of Townsend, Mass., Timothy Sullivan and partner, Angela Holt, of Lyndeborough; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Gary Vincent of Lunenburg, Mass. She also leaves several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joan loved the beach, spending time with family and friends and being active. She enjoyed tennis, hiking, skiing, snow shoeing, long walks on the beach, reading and following the Red Sox and Patriots. Joan was a kind, generous, fun-loving and positive individual with a beautiful smile. Above all, she was a devoted mother and family member. Her warmth, smile and joy in family, friends and life will be greatly missed.
