FREDRICKSBURG, Va. - John G Huszar, 81, of Fredericksburg Va., died April 21, 2014. "Big John" Huszar, passed away from acute respiratory failure at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg Virginia while being treated for other ailments.
John George Huszar was born in Balvanyos, Hungary on Oct. 9, 1932. He enlisted in the United States Army
and served his country proudly as a Green Beret for over 22 years. After retiring from the military, John and his late wife, Theresa moved to Greenville with their children. John continued to work until he retired in the mid 1990's and finally achieved his goal of living in sunny Florida. He later moved to Fredericksburg, Va. to be closer to his family.
John is survived by his sister, Maria Lancaster; daughter and son in law, Janet and Rudy; son and daughter in law, William and Kimberly; and son and daughter in law, John and Adelaida; and daughter in law Linda. He was preceded in death by his wife Therese Maria Huszar and son George Huszar. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
"Big John" enjoyed life and spending time working in his garden. He loved his family, his friends and this country that he called home. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on May 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Street Cemetery on Route 31 in Greenville.
