Marion Luther "Griff" Griffith

Marion (Griff) Luther Griffith passed away November 15, 2012 at the age of 86 in Madison, Connecticut. He predeceased his wife of 64 years, Jacqueline Griffith. He is survivied by daughters: Robin Foster, Randi Brito, and Wendy Ruiz; four grandchildren: Jaime Foster, Courtney Russell, Michael and Jessica Ruiz; and one great grandson. He is predeceased by his parents, Gusta and John Griffith, and his brother John Barry Griffith.
Marion was born September 26, 1926 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School, and attended Bowling Green and Kent State Universities where he studied business administration. Marion briefly served in the United States Navy. Following marriage to Jacqueline on November 25, 1948, he resided in Cuyahoga Falls until his work in the international medical supply field took him to Medford Lakes, New Jersey, Madison, Connecticut, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and finally to Jaffrey where he resided for 18 years. There Griff and Jackie enjoyed their retirement years serving the local community in many ways. Griff spent his last three years in Madison, Connecticut near family where he enjoyed dancing, walks, and playing the harmonica.
Marion had an interest in sports: wrestling in high school, playing baseball, racquetball, and basketball recreationally, and dabbling at bowling and golf. He enjoying drawing, crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader. Above all he was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and put his family above himself.
His granddaughter, Courtney, said it best when she wrote that he was a quiet man with a dry sense of humor, a gentle soul. We will miss him.
