BOW - Patricia "Pat" (Smith) Gagnon, 73, of Bow, died peacefully on Oct. 28, 2013, at Pleasant View Center in Concord, after being diagnosed with cancer in early July this year.
Pat was born in Peterborough on Nov. 16, 1939, graduated from Peterborough High School, and raised her family there as well. She married her best friend, Dan Gagnon, on Sept. 2, 1960, whom she unexpectedly lost on Aug. 1, 2013, due to heart failure.
Pat worked at Brookstone Company in Peterborough for 28 years while raising her four children until moving to Bennington, in 1988, and then moving to Bow in 2007.
She (and Dan) became a stellar and much-loved member of the White Rock Community. You could always find her helping out in any way she was able to. Whether it was acting as president of the activities committee, driving people to appointments, organizing social events, or greeting the new residents and making them feel welcomed, she was always there.
Pat is survived by a daughter, Paula Blais and husband, Wayne, of Bow, and a son, Brian Gagnon, of Weare. She will be missed by her five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Pat is also pre-deceased by a daughter, Donna Gagnon (1978), and a son, Mark Gagnon (2001), her mother, Isabel R. Smith, a brother, Edgar Smith, and sister, Florence Sheldon.
A memorial service is being held at White Rock Senior Living Center, 6 Bow Center Road, Bow, on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. to celebrate both the lives of Patricia and Daniel Gagnon. Attendees may bring along a pot luck dish to share in lieu of flowers.
