Robert Colin Mackintosh Sr(1924 - 2013)

Robert Colin Mackintosh Sr., 88, of Lyndeborough, NH, died April 3, 2013 at home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Charles and Gertrude Mackintosh of Uxbridge, Ma.

Bob was born May 2, 1924 in Milford, MA. He first came to Lyndeborough at the age of 16, to work at a sawmill owned by his uncle, Charles Ballou.

He enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps in 1942 and served until March 6, 1946, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. He married his wife, Mary O'Donnell on July 4, 1947 and they resided in Lyndeborough their entire married life.

Bob was a member of the Wilton Lions Club, served as Lyndeborough's fire chief for three years and police chief from 1968-1970. He also was a member of the town's Budget Committee, Board of Adjustment, Lyndeborough's Lafayette Artillery Company and was a charter member of the Pinnacle Mountain Fish and Game Club. Bob owned his own heating and plumbing company and also worked for several local businesses, retiring from Hendrix Wire and Cable of Milford.

Besides his wife, Mary, he is survived by two daughters, Gail McNulty and her husband Jim of Bushnell, Fla; Susan Monet and her husband Steven of Brighton, MI.; a son, Robert C. Mackintosh Jr. and his wife Martha of Wilton, NH; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Annatone of Hamden, Conn. and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Ryann.
