Carolyn Myrick Obituary

Carolyn Emma Monk Myrick, 93, of Temple, died suddenly Apr 6, 2013. She was born Nov 29, 1919 in Gardner, MA, the daughter of Rodney E. Monk and Gertrude Hildreth Patten. She graduated from UMass in 1940, then Yale School of Nursing in 1943. She worked at Hartford Hospital for a year, then joined the Army Nurse Corp and served in the Philippines from 1945-1946.

She married Roger Myrick Nov 3, 1946 and had 3 children, Bradford R., Sandra D. and Bruce H.

She and her husband moved to Temple in 1979 where she was active in the Temple Congregational Church, Souhegan Lions, and Greenville Women's Club. In 1995 she published the story of her husband's family "The Myricks of Tignish" and in 2005 published the story of her family "Roots and Branches".

She leaves her beloved children, son Bradford, wife Jacqueline and grandson Bradford; son Bruce and wife Suelaine Poling; and son-in-law Stephen Crosby and grandchildren Ben Crosby and wife Alex and great-grand daughter Hannah, and granddaughter Becky. She was predeceased by her husband and daughter Sandra.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Temple Congregational Church. Michaud Funeral Home of Wilton is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends of the Wapack, P.O. Box 115, W. Peterborough, NH 03468; Temple Historical Society, P.O. Box 114, Temple, NH, 03084; or a charity of one's choice.
