Elizabeth A. Gladu

1920 - 2013

LITTLETON, MASS. - Elizabeth A. (Heil) Gladu, 93, of Littleton, Mass., formerly of Westford, Mass., died at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton on Oct. 2, 2013. She was born in Jaffrey on May 25, 1920, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Heil, and she was the wife of the late Raymond Gladu, Sr. She grew up in Jaffrey and was a graduate of Conant High School, Class of 1938, and a graduate of the Robert Breck Brigham School of Nursing in 1942. She worked at the Brigham Hospital for a period of time. She was married in 1943 and made her home in Providence, R.I., before moving to Jaffrey and Boston, Mass., and Westford. She owned the Graniteville Nursing Home in Westford and worked at Emerson Hospital in Concord, Mass. over 20 years, retiring in 1989. Elizabeth enjoyed her family, knitting and gardening.

Her survivors include her son Raymond and his wife, Sandra Gladu, of Pelham. A daughter-in-law Gail Gladu of Temple, three grandchildren: Linda Ennis of Pelham, Wendy Landry of Dracut, Mass. and Holly Gladu of Temple and five great-grandchildren: Emily and James Ennis and Olivia, Nicholas and Katelyn Landry. She was predeceased by her three brothers and two sisters and also predeceased by her son Peter Gladu and grandson Christopher Gladu.

A Funeral Service will take place at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton, Mass. on Monday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be 9 a.m.to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
