Marilyn Brainerd Cook was born in Burlington Vermont on April 26, 1936. She entered heavens glory on February 8, 2013.
A consummate mother and homemaker, Marilyn was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Marilyn was an avid knitter and created beautiful handknit items for her children, grandchildren and friends. She was also an avid football fan and enjoyed cheering for her favorite team, the New England Patriots. Marilyn's warm and inviting nature, coupled with a wonderful sense of humor endeared her to all that knew her. Many times, a total stranger would approach her and start a conversation. Without thinking twice, Marilyn would listen and engage the individual in friendly banter. She will be dearly missed by all. Marilyn is survived by her spouse of 57 years, James Cook Jr of Jaffrey, sons James B Cook of Jaffrey and Johnathon H. Cook of Pickens SC, daughter Allison C. Daigle of Belmont, NH and a sister Barbara Jane Clark of Rutland, Vermont. Marilyn is predeceased by her son David T. Cook, November 18, 2004, parents Clarence and Frances Brainerd, sister Margaret Reynolds and brother Gordon Brainerd. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of DHMC CCU and the Concord NH Hospice House. A memorial service honoring Marilyn's life will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Brain Injury Association of NH at 109 N. State St. Concord, NH 03301.
