NEW IPSWICH - Peter E. Hinlein, 47, of Timbertop Road in New Ipswich died unexpectedly at his home Oct. 30, 2012, after experiencing a massive seizure.
The Guest Book is expired.
He was born Jan. 20, 1965, in Lowell, Mass., son of Sigmund Hinlein and Doris Sherburne. He graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 1983 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Art, graduating cum laude from the University of Massachusetts in 1988.
Peter sustained a traumatic brain injury in 1992 and subsequently participated in several years of rehabilitation. That, along with much family support, allowed him to make a good recovery.
Peter loved animals and nature, and over the past few years he enjoyed hiking on local trails as well as taking frequent long walks around New Ipswich. He had a particular interest in and much knowledge about automobiles and motorcycles, always ready to strike up a conversation about them with acquaintances.
Peter will be sorely missed by his family. He is survived by his mother, Doris Sherburne, of New Ipswich; his brother, Erich Hinlein of Pelham, Mass., and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Private funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, Peter's memory may be honored with a contribution to the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts, Attn: Development Office, 30 Lyman Street, Suite 10, Westborough, MA 01581.
