Rhonda E. Traffie, 56, of New Ipswich, NH died peacefully at home on January 3, 2013 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born July 30, 1956 in Winchendon, MA, the daughter of Roland Goddard, Jr. and Evelyn (Seppala) Goddard.
Rhonda moved to New Ipswich in 1982 after having lived several years in Washington State with her husband. She worked as an EMT with the Souhegan Valley Ambulance Service for over 18 years and recently graduated from Mt. Wachusett College with her degree in nursing. Rhonda was an incredibly giving person and loved helping people. She had recently been employed at Monadnock Community Hospital as a per diem unit coordinator in the emergency room and an LNA.
Rhonda is survived by her husband of more than 38 years, Wayne Traffie of New Ipswich and her 11 children: Anne Crawford of Manchester, Norma Traffie of New Ipswich, Isaac Traffie and his wife Nilene of Rindge, Levi Traffie and his wife Karissa of Greer, SC, Amos Traffie and his wife Emma of Trinity, NC, Douglas Traffie and his wife Shanda of New Ipswich, Samuel Traffie of Greer, SC, Roy Traffie of Greer, SC, Andrew Traffie of New Ipswich, Diana Somero and her husband Tell of Hayti, SD, and Ashley Traffie of New Ipswich. She will also be missed by her 12 grandchildren and her siblings Albert Goddard of New Ipswich, Arnold Goddard of Fitzwilliam, Earl Goddard of Rindge, Elaine West of Rindge and Charlie Goddard of Rindge, as well as many nieces and nephews, in-laws and brothers and sisters in Christ.
She was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church in New Ipswich and lived her faith daily.
Visiting hours will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, January 6th at the Apostolic Lutheran Church, 117 Goen Road in New Ipswich, NH. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7th at 11:00 AM at the Apostolic Lutheran Church, 117 Goen Road in New Ipswich, NH. Interment will be at the Smithville Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rhonda's memory to The Souhegan Valley Service, Turnpike Road, New Ipswich, NH 03071.
