LYNN, MASS. - Mr. Robert A. "Bob" Dalferro, of Lynn, Mass., died Friday, Oct. 11, in his 88th year. He was the beloved husband of 64 years to the late Patricia M. "Pat" (Haley) Dalferro. Born in Swampscott, he was the son of the late John B. and Grace (Antolini) Dalferro. He lived in Lynn all of his life.

He was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1943, and recently helped organize the 70th class reunion. He attended Wesleyan University before enlisting in the military. He later graduated from Northeastern University with a B.B.A. in Engineering & Management. He continued his studies at Salem State College.
Bob served in the United States Army Air Corps as a Navigator Flight Officer during World War II. Post-war, he worked briefly as a carpenter and was then employed as a Marketing Engineer for General Electric Instrument Department in Lynn from 1952-1985. After that division closed, he helped organize the "Last Hurrah," an annual reunion of former employees, over a period of 20 years.
A lifelong communicant of Holy Family Church in Lynn, Bob served on the Parish Council for many years. He also served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister and usher. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and the Sons of Italy. He will be remembered for his tireless work and his famous meatball recipe for the annual Italian Festa.
Bob was on the Board of Managers for the Lynn Home for the Elderly. He was a member of the Gerry 5 in Marblehead, the Lynn Historical Society, the Lynn Museum, and the Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beaches, where he coordinated the summer concert series for several years. Active until the end, Bob enjoyed traveling and social activities with family, friends, former classmates and former GE co-workers. He kept regular lunch and dinner dates with the LEHS Meadowlarks, the GE "Sparkplugs," the ROMEOs, and his beloved Lunch Bunch and Tuesday dinner group.
He is survived by his son, Paul Dalferro and his wife, Donna of Castalia, Ohio; three daughters, Kathy Sullivan and her husband, Paul, of Peterborough, Joanne DeCelles of Lynn and her fiancé, Ed van Riet and Lisa Abuhamad and her husband, Karim, of Dallas, Texas; nine grandchildren, John Paul Dalferro and his wife, Valerie, of Tampa, Fla., Gina Marie Dalferro of Arlington, Va., Betsy Sullivan Zager and her husband, Russell, of Summit, N.J., Emily Sullivan West and her husband, Ian, of Concord, Robert Sullivan and his wife, Brooke, of Lynn, Gregory DeCelles, and his wife, Amy, of Fairhaven, Mass., Grace Abuhamad of Washington, D.C., and John and George Abuhamad of Dallas, Texas. He was the brother of the late Doris Curry and Ralph Dalferro and father-in-law of the late Richard DeCelles.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Rt 1A), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Family Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
