LEOMINSTER, MA- Vera Evelyn Pera passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Keystone Center in Leominster, MA. Born in Fitchburg, MA on January 18, 1938, she lived in New Ipswich, NH most of her life and moved to Massachusetts in the early 80's, and later back to New Ipswich, most recently living at the Sundial Center in Fitchburg, MA.

Vera was a graduate of Appleton Academy where she was active in basketball. Vera raised a family, became a town clerk and Tax Collector, and ran a successful real estate business for many years. She loved to read, knit, volunteer, and stay active.
Vera is survived by her brother, Richard Pera of CA; daughters Cynthia Lussier (Richard) of New Ipswich, NH; Wendy Stacy (G. Frank Knapp) of Florida; her sons Matthew Stacy (Bernice) of Amherst, NH; Michael Stacy of Nashua, NH, her grandchildren, Ricky and Brandon Lussier, Joe and Paul Stacy, Jared and AJ Downey, and her grand dog Rex Stacy.
There will be a memorial service Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012; 10:30 am at the First Parish Church Unitarian Universalist, 923 Main Street, Fitchburg, MA, followed by a memorial reception at the Sundial Center, 29 Merriam Parkway, in Fitchburg. If you so chose, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
