FITZWILLIAM - Robert R. Willard, 60, a resident of Fitzwilliam, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 22, 2014, following a period of declining health.

He was born Aug. 29, 1953 in Springfield, Mass., the son of John Franklin Willard Jr. and Elizabeth (Cook) Flowers. He was a 1971 graduate of Springfield Technical High School. He was a charter member of the Men's Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Keene.
Robert was a very hard working man, and had been an employee of Price Chopper Grocery Store in Keene for many years. He had a very deep compassion for animals, especially his beloved cat: Simon, who was loyally at his side, throughout his final journey.
He is survived by his mother: Elizabeth Flowers and her husband, Bill of Naples, Fla., his sister: Ilse Jouette of Sherman Oaks, Calif., his brother: John F. Willard III and his wife, Christine of Naples, Fla., and many nieces, nephew and extended family members.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 4 Fitzwilliam Road, Troy. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Richmond Road, Winchester. Family and friends are invited to call on the family at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, on Monday, May 26, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m.
