John M. Comeaux, 91, went on to be with the Lord on April 9, 2018 at home while working in his beloved mayhaw orchard. He was born in Rayne, Louisiana to Louis and Celina Comeaux and was one of four children. He lived in Louisiana most of his life, but also lived in Missouri and Colorado.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 70 years, Lola Comeaux, his daughter, Brenda Vayna of Syosset, New York (and her husband Tom), one grandson, Brandon Vayna and one brother, Cecil Comeaux of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Belle Comeaux Miller and his brother Harry Comeaux.

Polk in Leesville, Louisiana until he retired in 1984. He received awards during his career for small inventions and for workplace improvement ideas such as ways to improve the flow of traffic at quitting time at Ft. Polk.
He was a sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies in his younger years.
He was a long-time member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville, Louisiana where in 1967, he received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus' name. He taught Sunday school and is known for singing "The Great Speckled Bird" with his wife, Lola, who played the guitar while he played the harmonica. After moving to Lake Charles, he was a member of Apostolic Temple for more than twenty years.
His funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Apostolic Temple. The Rev. Ricky Treece will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. We absolutely love the Comeaux family! I have so many happy memories in your home, going crabbing, fish fries, awesome church services, and just spending time together. You all were a very integral part of our growing up years. The Bruce family felt as though you all were part of our family. Bro. Comeaux will be missed by all who knew him. Sis Comeaux, Brenda, Tom, and Brandon and the rest of the family our thoughts and prayers have been with you from the moment I heard of his passing. I so wish that I could be there with you during this difficult time. Love and prayers! Renee Bruce Roberts

Sis. Comeaux and Brenda,
I will always cherish the laughter and fun that Bro. John brought to living for Jesus. He was such an humble men who worshipped with sincerity and fervor. I loved to hear y'all sing and play at church. In fact, I can close my eyes and see Bro. Comeaux run a lap around the pulpit as Sis. Comeaux continued to play the accordion and sing.. He'd always join again to finish playing the harmonica and singing the song.
Much love and my sincere condolences to you both.
