Funeral Services for Daniel Jefferson Self, 80, of Livingston, Texas will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 24 in the Soda Baptist Church in Livingston with Rev. Wayne Bickley officiating. Interment following in the Good Hope Cemetery in Anacoco at 3 p.m. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. on Sunday at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston. Pallbearers are Michael Self, Mark Self, Matthew Self, Mitchell Bullock, Brandon Conn, William Self and Roger Self.
Daniel was born on Jan. 26, 1931 in Anacoco to William Joseph Self and Effie Mahale Palmer Self and passed away on Oct. 20, 2011 in Livingston. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Self and Effie Mahale Palmer Self; brothers, Joseph Quenton Self, Odel Self, Hersal Self and Ray Self; and sister, Ida Jane.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Zelwanda Scott Self, of Livingston; son and daughter in law, Daniel Michael Self and Suzanne of Fredericksburg, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Diane Bullock and Wade of Montgomery, Texas; and daughter and son-in-law Sharon Kathleen Conn and Doug, of Lufkin, Texas; brothers, Elton Self of Leesville, and Carl Self and wife Ginger of DeRidder; and sisters, Carline Horton and husband Billy of Kingwood, Faye Carson and husband Jimmy of Natchitoches, and Wanda Deslattes of Alexandria. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren along with numerous other relatives and friends.
