MIDDLEBURG - Randell Lee "Randy" or "Junior" Boyer Jr., 35, of Troxelville Road, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, in Union County, from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident on Old Shingle Road, which also claimed the lives of his companion, Kimberly Carroll and her son, Joseth Stanton.
He was born Dec. 2, 1973, in Lewisburg, a son of Randell L. Boyer Sr. and the late Evelyn J. (Hoopsick) Boyer. He was married to the former Jody M. Long, of Middleburg.
Randy was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School, where he played football.
He was employed as an independent truck driver and was dedicated to his job
Randy enjoyed hunting and working with farm animals. He loved children, and his children were the center of his life.
He is survived by four children, Kayla L. Boyer and Randell L. "Bud" Boyer III, both of Glen Iron, and Brittany L. and BreezeAnna M. Boyer, both of Newell; two stepchildren, Jamie Perkinson, of Middleburg, and Liven Gauge Carroll, of California; one brother, Michael Fegley, of Mifflinburg; grandmother, Jean Rowles, of Millmont; great-grandmother, Rebecca Phillips, of Clearfield; and four uncles and aunts, William F. and Debbie Boyer and Frank and Chris Boyer, all of Mifflinburg, Kenneth and Theresa Boyer, of Mount Carmel, and Michael and Joyce Boyer, of Oklahoma.
Junior was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Grace Boyer and Wesley Rowles, one brother, Brian S. Boyer.
There will be no viewing or visitation. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, with the Rev. E. Denton Mallonee officiating.
Burial will be on Friday in Hartleton Cemetery.
