MARTIN DAUM
WAPAKONETA — Martin W. "Bill" Daum, 95, of Wapakoneta, died 10:30 p.m., Thurs. Dec. 17, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born July 1, 1920, in Sidney, OH, the son of Oswald & Edith (Rhodes) Daum. He was married to Hilda Clara Kelley, and she died Feb. 10, 1988.
Survivors include, 2 sons, James & Suzette Daum, Germantown, OH, Jeffrey Daum, Wapakoneta, 7 grandchildren, Shannon Napier, Brandon Daum, Amanda & Michael Latsko, William Roberts, Amy Eisenhut, Corey Roberts, & Donna Hart, 22 great grandchildren & 1 great great granddaughter, his life partner of many years, Barbara Schoffner, Wapakoneta, sister-in-law, Irene Daum, Wapakoneta.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert Daum and Richard Daum.
Bill retired as a machinist in 1985 from Excello Corp., Lima, after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, and a 1939 graduate of Blume High School. He was also member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691, Wapakoneta. His hobbies included woodworking, working in his yard, and attending area county fairs and festivals. He enjoyed watching football, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wed. Dec. 23, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, with Rev. Daniel Hunt officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Tues. at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral and Cremation Services, 1102 Lincoln Ave. (St. Rt. 501) Wapakoneta. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice. Condolences may be expressed at www.bayliffandeleyfh.com.
