GREG BINKLEY
SPENCERVILLE — Greg Binkley, 65, died May 1, 2014, in his sleep following a short illness.
He was born Dec. 29, 1948, in Lima, to Keith H. and Virginia E. Schiffer Binkley, who preceded him death. His stepfather, Tom Gaskill, survives in Spencerville. He was previously married to Ruth Ann Jacks, who is deceased. On March 10, 1984, he married Carla J. Hawk Goetz, who survives/
Mr. Binkley was a 1967 graduate of Spencerville High School and worked 39 years as a machine operator at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in St. Marys, retiring in 2007. He was a longtime member and past president/trustee of the Spencerville Invincible Fire Co. and was a member of the Bowersock Bros. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 Mens Auxiliary in Spencerville. He enjoyed slow cruising his hometown of Spencerville in his truck and talking to his friends.
Survivors also include six children, Mike Binkley, of Venedocia, Linda (Tim) Goffe, of Gadston, Ala., Melissa (Stuart Cameron) Goetz, of Spencerville, Shelley Goetz, of New Market, Tenn., Jon (Cheryl) Goetz and Jayme Goetz, both of Spencerville; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and two brothers, Mark (Schako) Binkley, of Seattle, and Paul (Cathy) Binkley, of Spencerville.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. The Rev. Tom Shobe will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Invincible Fire Co. or the VFW Mens Auxiliary.
