LIMA — Christina M. Rhoades, 92, passed away January 4, 2014, at 4:45 pm, at Lima Memorial Health System
Christina was born March 27, 1921 in Mishawaka, IN, to John and Corrinne Stover who preceded her in death. On August 28, 1947 she married Edward Dean Rhoades who preceded her in death on August 21, 2005. Christina had worked as a supervisor with Westinghouse for 14 years. She loved South Side Christian Church and although she wasn't able to attend often services at the church, she liked to think of herself as being a member of the church. She also was a life member of the VFW #1275 Ladies Auxiliary. Christina was well known for baking her holiday candies, including buckeyes and her famous fudge. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. Christina truly loved traveling with her husband Eddie to the Smokies, Las Vegas and to visit their children located throughout the United States.
She is survived by a Daughter, Beverly Graham of Sacramento, CA, Son, Jack Jones of Carbondale, CO, Daughter, Vondale (Tom) Betts of Austin, TX, Sister, Constance Stover of Defiance, OH, 6 Grandchildren,, 9 Great Grandchildren, and 12 Great Great Grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by a Brother, John H. Stover, 2 Sisters, Willadean Kinninger and Annabelle Kibble.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Friday January 10, 2014 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Eastside Chapel. Officiating the service will be Rev. Douglas Adams.
Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00am on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services Chape – Eastside Chapel. Burial will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire.
