DONALD STEVENSON

LIMA — Donald J. "Farmer" Stevenson, 65, of Lima, died due to a work related industrial accident on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Donald was born on February 9, 1949 Bluffton, Ohio to William L. and Helga (Lederer) Stevenson who both preceded him. He married Sarah A. Feichter on November 14, 1971 and she survives in Lima.

He was a truck driver for the Nash-Finch Company of Lima, and was a self-employed farmer at Stevenson Farms. He had also been a steel hauler during the 70's, 80's and 90's. He was a proud 1967 graduate of Bath High School where was a member of the National Honor Society and played trumpet in the band. He attended The Ohio State University and was an avid Buckeye fan. He was a member of Sager Lodge 513 F. & A.M., Lafayette, the Teamsters Local 908 and the Heritage Co-Op. He was also an avid history buff. He loved farming and was an avid Allen County Fair attendee. He loved to stay busy and loved gardening, especially tending to his pumpkin patch. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren. He loved to socialize with anyone and never met a stranger.

Surviving are his wife Sarah Stevenson of Lima; son William (Kari Long) Stevenson of Lima; daughters Cherlyn (William) Riley of Lima and Jennifer (Tim) McPherson of Kenton; grandchildren Aries and Tevin Riley and Madison McPherson; brother Gregory M. Stevenson of Dublin; sister Jean (Jack Hadley) Alguire of Lima; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES EASTSIDE CHAPEL with Pastor David Brown officiating.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM where a masonic service will be conducted by Sager Lodge 513 F. & A.M., Lafayette at 8:00 PM. There will also be visitation on Monday, May 5, 2014 from 10 AM until the time of the services.

Interment will be at Ward Cemetery, Lima.
