LIMA — Doris E. Price, 88, passed away at 2:03 p.m. January 31, 2014 at the Wyngate Senior Living Community.
She was born on October 28, 1925, in Lima, to Virgil & Pearl Roush Foust, who have both preceded her in death. On January 10, 1944, she married Ralph R. Price Jr., who passed away on February 11, 1995.
Mrs. Price graduated from Shawnee High School. Doris was a member of the Church at Allentown and its' Women's Group. She was also a member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary, the Child Conservation League, Silly Sisters Card Club, and the Senior Citizens Center. Doris had worked at the Ohio Steel Foundry during WWII, Montgomery Ward, Sears-Roebuck, Readmor-Hallmark, and the Orthopedic Surgeons, as a receptionist. She was an avid fan of the Ohio State University football and basketball teams, and the Cleveland Indians Baseball. Doris loved playing cards, with hand and foot being her favorite game, but most of all, she loved her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Sonja & Don Barnt, of Delphos; two sons, Rex & Elizabeth Price, of Albany, GA and Max Joe & Kathy Price, of Spencerville; a brother, Roger Foust, of Lima; 8 grandchildren, Wesley & Michelle Barnt, Barry & Jamie Barnt, Wyatt & Melissa Price, Ethan Price, Jared Price, Jennifer & Josh Lotz, Jessica & Troy Harshman, and Mitchell Price; and 16 great-grandchildren, Tanner, Madison, Alexis, Isabel, Jagger, Matthew, Tristan, Zachary, Rylie, Connor, Austin, Keaton, Joel, Christian, Eric, and Amber.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Foust, who passed away in Japan during WWII.
The family would like to thank the Wyngate Senior Living staff, nurses, and aides for their loving and compassionate care of Mother.
Services will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Rev. Neil Whitney will officiate.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment of her cremated remains will be in Allentown Cemetery at a later date.
