LIMA — Edward C. Deysher, 84, died at 11:44 a.m. Nov. 30, 2013, at OSU Ross Hospital in Columbus.
He was born Feb. 19, 1929, in Palisades Park, N.Y., to Albert L. and Evelyn E. Bourne Deysher, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 4, 1949, he married Dorothy "Dottie" Deysher, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Deysher was a pharmacist with Deysher's Pharmacy with 47 years service. He was a member of Central Christian Church since 1949 and was an elder, a deacon, a trustee and a member of the choir at the church. He also was a member of the Lima Noon Optimist Club, Lima Youth Symphony board member, Delta Sigma Phi, Mendon Hearts, a former board member at Goodwill Industries, a fromer member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, and a former member of the Northwestern Pharmaceutical Association.
Survivors also include a daughter, Dorothy L. (Ronald) Durham, of Lakeside Park, Ky.; two grandchildren, Laura (Shane) Hensley, and Kyle (Elizabeth Cox) Durham; a brother, William Deysher, of The Villages, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Shirley Deysher, of Ridgewood, N.J.; 10 nieces and nephews, Bonnie Caterson, Roy Deysher, Jodie Neumann, Bruce Deysher, Beth Wolf, Kim Matthews, Jodi Leiberman, Jill Swatton, Jennifer Schmidt, and Carol Rofofsky; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Deysher; and a sister-in-law, Polly Deysher.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Central Christian Church. The Rev. Mark Tisch will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lima.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, and noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
