Jimmie Carder


LIMA — Jimmie Robert Carder, 78, went to meet his heavenly father at 11:54 p.m. Aug. 6, 2014, at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born in Delphos to Samuel and Ethel Baxter Carder, who preceded him in death. He married Marilyn Mault, who survives.

Mr. Carder retired from Teledyne Ohio Steel and the Bath Fire Department as a firefighter, EMT and dispatcher. He was a Korean War veteran. He enjoyed traveling, Cincinnati Reds, playing pool, and softball. He was an avid fan of Bath High School Sports.

Survivors also include two sons, Mark Allen Carder, of Lima, and Scott Allen (Blue) Carder, of Lima; a daughter, Christine Ann (Douglas) McDorman, of Elida; a daughter-in-law, Annette Carder, of Georgia; two sisters, Dottie Kramer, of Toledo, and Evie Hall, of Ada; and 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lee Carder; a grandson, Brian Douglas McDorman; and three brothers and two sisters.

No visitation will be held. There will be a private viewing with immediate family.

Cremation is being handled by Bayliff & Son Funeral Home.

Contributions may be given to the , Kidney Foundation, Dialysis Foundation, Disabled Veterans, or organization of the donor's choice.
